Timing It Right With The Lucky Number 8

I've just realised a coincidence with the Beijing Olympic Games of 2008 - or was it manipulated this way? Some of it maybe.

The Beijing Games officially began at 8 minutes past 8 pm on the 8th day of the 8th month in 2008.

That's a whole lot of number 8s.

Of course 8 is considered a lucky number in China, associated with prosperity and confidence in their culture. Looks like they were making sure that everything went well.

Timing can change everything in life.

A Whole Load Of 56 Coincidences

A number coincidence story today from Colin.

The Number 56
"My son Tim who is 27, has been, since he was around 14, beleaguered by the number 56. It appears in his life with alarming regularity, directly and indirectly.

When my granddaughter Brooke was born just before 10am, he jokingly asked if the time was 9.56. The nurse said "No, 9.47" (but 9+47=56).

Now you may say so what, but it goes on. All the digits of his children's birthdays add up to 56!

Last summer I was waiting to board a plane at Heathrow when my son called to say good bye. Just as he said hello they announced my gate had changed to 56.

A few weeks later I was downloading a movie in the US at my wife's apartment. It had taken two days. I woke in the morning to see its progress, it was bang on 56%, not a digit more. One moment later I had an email from Tim to say my grandson had been born weighing 5lb 6oz. His birth date also completed the 56 total.

This has gone on for so long, we expect it, but we also look at times when it hasn't happened. There are obviously lots of them but most of the significant numbers in his life are 56 orientated.

I did point out to him that his wayward mother would be 56 in 2012, having been born in 1956. 2012 being significant to some panic mongers. But that is probably a coincidence.

An addendum to the last e-mail about my son Tim and his connection with the number 56. Yesterday his 4th child, my Granddaughter Harly, was born at 4.56 pm. I kid you not.

June 23rd Coincidence

April's coincidence story about the 23rd of June - which just happens to also be my mother's birthday.

"We married two years ago and were renovating a house we had moved into. At the time I was pregnant so my husband did most of the heavy work, while I supervised!

He was working in what was to be our bedroom and there was a boarded up fireplace, but the previous owners hadn't done a very good job of it.

My husband knocked in the boarded up part so he could re-plaster the area to make it all smooth with the rest of the wall. Behind the board was part of a newspaper, at the top was the date of June 23 (1970).

Nothing too strange in this but our baby was born a few months later on June 23rd. I don't know if this was some kind of prediction or an omen. We called the baby June (it was a girl!) and I'm called April. I'm pregnant again but I can't see us calling a son or daughter October!"

9 11 Numbers Seen On New York Visit

A coincidence story today from Karen about seeing the numbers 9 and 11 on a trip to New York.

I'm not sure how much of a coincidence or synchronicity this is, or if it's even either, but this is my story.

I'm from England and during September 2006 my friend and I visited New York City. After a good night's sleep on our first night in the city, my friend woke up suddenly. She doesn't know what startled her but the time on her clock was 9:11. She wanted to wake me but didn't, and just told me about it later instead.

On the following day we were walking in the evening and a man asked us what the time was. It was 9:11 which felt quite creepy.

On the last day of our break, we went to lower Manhattan and whilst down there next to the Courthouse, I got a call from my partner in the UK. He said he would be at work when I arrived home the following morning and that he would give our house keys to my father.

It costs me money, while in the US, not only to make but also to receive calls (89p to receive and £1.49 to make a call). As my talk-time ran out during my partner's call, I 'topped-up' my phone.

With a zero balance in my phone I put a further £10 on it and then made a call to my boyfriend.

It appeared to be calling him when all of a sudden I got this really loud grinding sort of noise that made me pull the phone back from my ear.

I looked at the screen and the call appeared to end, and my balance came up on screen, you've guessed it: 9.11.

Now sorry to state the obvious but I made the call so it should have deducted 1.49 so the balance should have been 8.51. Is this all just a coincidence?

I spoke to someone who reckons she knows about numbers and she said if I add 9+1+1 it equals 11 and then if I add the 1+1 I get 2. Therefore the number 2 is my Life Path and that's why I'm aware of seeing the 9 and 11s.

She went on to say, amongst other things, that this meant I had a spiritual quality and I was one of the peacemakers in society.

I'm undecided as to whether the numbers are meaningful or if I'm simply imagining stuff.

The Coincidence Of Numbers

The two clippings - above and below - are from the UK's Daily Mail newspaper.

Before I go any further I'll explain that the house number, where I live, is 76 and my previous address was a property with the number 33.

I'll now get to the point of this post. Researchers for the Axa insurance company have been doing a study of door numbers and have reached some statistical conclusions regarding whether certain addresses may be burgled, suffer storm and fire damage and so on. This is what the Daily Mail said, as per the cutting above right.

"So start worrying anyone living at No 33 - you are most likely to suffer from burglary, fire or flood. By contrast, stand proud those with 76 on the front door - you have the best record, say insurers Axa."

So, by coincidence, I'm one of the proud ones, now being at 76. Whereas previously I was in an insurance risk home being at 33.

All of this rings true for me. I'm not trying to tempt fate, I have my fingers crossed and I've touched wood, but my present house has been very lucky for me. So much so that I am reluctant to move. My previous home though wasn't so lucky and there were, what shall I say, a few problems and life there wasn't quite so smooth.

Carrying on with the numbers theme. I've also written a post previously saying how 76 features as a significant number generally in my life - followed by 6s and 7s - thus the url address for my other blog being www.67notout.com.

I was looking at the Stumbleupon website this morning, where one of my posts has been listed. It's the one about a Captain Perry and his NDE - Perry being my surname. This particular post has had 67 referrals from Stumbleupon.


I also wrote recently that Stumbleupon sent me exactly 76 referrals when I wrote about my dead father in the post Speaking To My Dead Father


So 67 and 76 referrals when the name Perry is mentioned - coincidence? Or is there something more meaningful about numbers and how they appear in our lives? I reckon there is.

Lucky Numbers That Are With Us Through Life

Coincidences seem to arrive in various categories. The sort I'm mentioning today is where numbers, or perhaps a symbol, keep popping up throughout a lifetime.

With me it's the number 76. This has appeared from time to time ever since I can remember.

As I see it 76 comes about in two categories.

Firstly it seems to be a sign for me of something good or perhaps to indicate that I'm on the right track.

Let's see, examples of this would be that I met my wife on the 7th of the 6th, the house I bought, which was very lucky for me, had the door number 76, my son was born in 1976 - and so it goes on and on.

Now it's easy to say that this happens all by chance or, perhaps, I've picked numbers or circumstances to fit this post. I can understand this thinking but for me when the number 76 comes up, in some way, it means something good will happen. And, yes, you could also say that if you believe something to be true then it will be.

Moving on to my second category for my number 76. Sometimes it links with the past. Or you could look at this the other way round and say that it links with the future.

There are many examples I could offer. For example in the early 70's I owned a car with the number plate 76GMP. Now my initials are MP and a girlfriend I had back then used to say the GMP meant 'gorgeous Michael Perry' - blimey how times have changed, those were the days!

Anyway, the 76, even back then, I felt was lucky and the car was lucky in more ways than one, which I won't go into!

The strange thing is that later, when I married, I moved into a house, as I mentioned earlier, numbered 76 and the road I lived in started with a G - and me, MP, lived there. So the 76GMP all fits nicely into place.

I know this may sound like I'm away with the fairies, and it's often possible to make things fit the way you want. All I can say is that I 'feel' that 76 is an important symbol of good in my life. And I believe that lots of people have special numbers or symbols.

Having written the above I had a look on Google for a meaning of 76, I had never done this before. All I could come up with was a website called Riding the Beast which gave the following:

"76: Represents the termination of the individual Karma, 6, by the completion of its cycle of evolution, 70, passing from the death of the matter - or of oneself - to the birth to the spiritual, that is to say the passage on a higher level of existence - 7 + 6 = 13."

Whatever! All I know is that 76 is a positive symbol in my life.
