Here is a follow up coincidence story following the 67 Not Out post Married Couple Were Unknowingly Photographed Together As Children.

"My husband and I met on a blind date in 1960 and, as we got to know each other, we realised we had been born in the same hospital in Gower within three days of each other. Yet another case of deja vu.

His mum already had two boys and, had he been born a girl, he would have been named Yvonne, which is my middle name.

We've been very happy together and next March celebrate our golden wedding anniversary - not bad after spending our first days in neighbouring cots."

Here's a coincidence story I saw or Reddit by JehuLove

"So, after we'd been dating a few months, I get a text from my girlfriend who asks me, "Were you at Club ID in Nagoya in December?"

We had met the following month, at the end of January 2011. I told her I wasn't sure of the date, but that I had, indeed, gone to the club with some friends sometime before Christmas.

She replies, "Yeah, you were there on December 18th. Check this out." And then proceeds to send me a photograph she took with her friends.

And there I was, in the background, photobombing her picture like a gigantic dork, a month before we'd ever met, in a city three hours from either of our homes.

London To Cornwall Via A Coincidence

A while back I published a post on my other blog titled How To Get A Car Parking Space Using Coincidences, I was reminded that this isn't the only problem which can be solved this way. Terri Patrick and Trish and Rob left comments to this effect.

I remember, for instance, when my wonderful mother was in hospital in London (where she lived) after a fall and then a nasty stroke. Living in Cornwall, 300 miles away, this had me travelling up and down the motorway for weeks on end.

I'd just arrived home on a Monday, after staying in London for about ten days. There was a phone call from the hospital administration department saying the doctor had decided that my mother needed to go into a Nursing Home - and that they wanted her bed by Friday!

They indicated that my mother would prefer to be near me. If I couldn't find somewhere in Cornwall they would place her in a Home 'somewhere in London'. I knew finding a place locally would be difficult as a friend had a problem finding a Nursing Home near to where he lived for his parent. Everywhere is full as there are always waiting lists and not enough beds / rooms.

Somehow I got my head straight and asked the Universe for a perfect place for my mother to stay, near to my house.

I had no idea what to do next so I got the Yellow Pages phone directory and looked up Nursing Homes. There were only two listed in my town.

I again asked the Universe for guidance.

I picked out one of the Nursing Homes, made a phone call and was told that, by coincidence, in the last hour a room had become vacant. They were just about to notify the local hospital and Social Services about this, but for some reason had been delayed in doing so.

I asked if they could put off circulating the vacancy and explained about my mother's situation. They agreed, providing I could be there within the next half hour to look over the room, the Home itself and make a decision. Otherwise they would follow their standard procedure and the room would be filled.

My wife and I were there in ten minutes.

To cut a long story short the room and everything else looked to be satisfactory and quite homely. I phoned London and they agreed this would be suitable and furthermore also agreed that they would arrange an ambulance to transport my mother to Cornwall on the Friday. What's more the London Council would cover all of the costs for her stay and her transportation. Phew!

Once my mum was settled in she spent a reasonably happy time at the Nursing Home and we were able to visit her virtually every day.

Many will say it was just chance, or a bog standard coincidence, that everything worked out so well - and that this would have happened regardless. For me though, the way everything fitted together so perfectly, was a sign that there was some sort of higher power at work. I felt my request had been answered in full, with more besides.

I'm now of the opinion that there is usually an answer to most problems if, that is, we ask for a perfect solution: 'to the good of all concerned'.

A Very Unlikely Coincidence Meeting

Another interesting reader's coincidence story today, this time from Markus.

"I’m originally from a small town in central Finland called Jyväskylä. In 2005, I came to study in London, UK.

During my first week at UCL, I got talking with a girl doing the same course as I, who I’ve become friends with since. She was from Norwich, England.

She asked me where I was from, and I said, "Finland." She said, "That’s cool, my auntie is Finnish."

So I asked, "Where do they live?" She said, "Jyväskylä." I said, "Wow, that’s where I’m from."

I asked half jokingly what her auntie’s name was. She said Smith (not the real name, but will suffice here). And it kind of rang a bell, so I asked what she did for a living. She said her auntie worked at the university. I said, "Well, so does my Dad!" But that’s by no means the end of it.

I was talking with my Dad on the phone some time later and I asked him if he knows this Smith person? He said of course he does, she’s the head of his department, his boss in effect.

But the real punch-line of this coincidence is that in 1988, when my Dad went to do research in the States and our whole family moved there for a year (I was 8 at the time), Mr and Mrs Smith had rented and moved into our home for that whole year. And 18 years later I find myself doing the same course as their niece, in a city of some 13 million, in a country on the other side of Europe.

It took me a while to get over this one!"

The Double Whammy Broken Crutch Coincidence

A double whammy coincidence story today from my synchronicity and coincidence cuttings collection. Not too sure where it originated.

"When I was about 13/14 my friends and I used walk through the park up to the comic book store about once a day. Along the way was a mom and pop drugstore that we would stop in and buy candy, sodas, etc.

The drugstore was going out of business and they had all these random crutches in a bin for sale for a quarter. My friend, just for the fun of it, decided to buy one. As we were walking back through the park we ran down this big hill and he wiped out hurting his knee pretty severely in the process, so much so that he actually needed the crutch to walk.

The really bizarre part was that the same fall that had hurt his knee, broke the crutch, rendering it useless."

Not sure whether J.R Collinson's coincidence story will make you laugh or groan!

"I don't know what you will have to say about this coincidence as it has a silly side to it.

"We were having breakfast and the husband, who thinks he's a comedian, was telling our schoolgirl daughter a joke. This is something like how it went -

"A schoolboy was asked by his teacher to put the words 'Income Tax' into a sentence. The boy thought about it and then wrote, 'I have a dog called Tax and he was barking at the door so I opened the door and in come tax.'

"Our daughter sighed and said how that must be the 99th time she'd heard him tell the joke. He can be very repetitive!

"Just then we heard the postman push some letters through the door. One was from the Inland Revenue, who are the Income Tax people. My husband is self employed and had been disputing his last tax return. Inside the envelope was a cheque for £99.00 as a refund from the Income Tax people.

"So there really was income tax through the door, just like the dog.

"Told you it was silly!"

Lauren's Perfect Business Partner Coincidence

A coincidence story today from Lauren. It shows how life sometimes just falls into place and how coincidences can guide the way and confirm that it is the right path. At least that's my interpretation

"I saw your 67 Not Out blog on Stumbleupon and have been a keen reader ever since. I wonder what you think of my coincidence story as I think it's pretty amazing.

I had an idea for a business but felt that it would be too much for me to handle on my own. I couldn't think of anyone who would be interested in joining me in my venture. There was actually one person who would, my best childhood friend, but she was now living in Australia, whereas I'm in England. A bit too far to commute!

About a week passed, after thinking about this business idea, and by chance I was introduced to someone who would make a perfect business partner, but this isn't the coincidence part of this story.

The coincidence is that this girl I met has exactly the same name as my friend in Australia and they are both the same age with the same birthdate of 23rd of March, 1977. I've also found out that she has a B.A (Hons) degree in economics, as has my friend in Aussie.

The good news is that our business is now up and running and Gloria has said how she had been thinking along similar lines for ages.

Like you, I believe in coincidences as something meaningful."

The AA Phone Call Coincidence

This short coincidence story was on UK television a while back and is about a guy who works for the AA - this is the 'Automobile Association' as opposed to 'Alcoholics Anonymous'.

He was out for a walk in the middle of nowhere when a public phone box he was passing started to ring. He thought he might as well answer the phone and when he did so was shocked to find that the caller was his dispatcher from the AA.

It seems she had meant to call his mobile phone number but absent mindedly had rung his staff number instead - which just happened to be the number of the phone box he was walking past.

Bizarre but true according to the BBC.

Happy Anniversary Coincidence

It was the wedding anniversary of John Davis' parents, who live in Wales, and he had forgotten to send a Happy Anniversary card or any flowers. So he wouldn't be too much in their bad books he sent them a text until he could phone them properly later in the day.

Later that afternoon he received a phone call from his next door neighbour, who he didn't really know that well, and he thanked him for sending a message of congratulations for his anniversary.

To say this puzzled John is putting it mildly. Firstly he didn't have his neighbour's number in his mobile's memory, secondly he didn't know it was his neighbour's anniversary and thirdly the text message had got through okay to his parents. He has no idea as to how the same text message was somehow sent to his neighbour.

John phoned his parents later in the day and all was well with them.

An Ancestry Coincidence Story

A couple of coincidence or synchronicity stories today, with thanks from JC.

Ancestors Coincidence
Here's a couple of coincidences. The first one. About 10 years ago I first contacted my great aunt, who told me my father's great grandmother and her sister, Faith and Phoebe, had come from England, a small village called Morchard Bishop.

I phoned my sister, who had recently moved from America to England to tell her. Without knowing anything about these ancestors my sister had also named her two daughters Faith and Phoebe and had bought her house two miles from Morchard Bishop.

Another little one. When we were very little kids my brother and I were given silver dollars by a visiting guest. In a fight with him I threw his coin into the garden. In looking for the coin later that day a grown-up said take a rock and throw it where you threw the coin. I (a lousy throw) threw a rock and it landed on the coin, which popped into the air like a tiddlywink and I was able to find it.

A coincidence story today from Sandra about crows:

The other day there were two big black crows in my garden. They looked quite intimidating close up and they hung about for ages.

Later the same day I went to the supermarket and as I parked my car at the far side of the car park, near a grassy bank, a crow landed quite near to me. It appeared that he was looking at me but I thought it was only my imagination.

A short while after arriving home my husband returned early from work. This was because he had to get up early the next day to drive to see a client at Crowborough in East Sussex, and the name of the man was Mr.Crowe.

I thought this was a strange coincidence.

A coincidence story today from Harry about losing his wallet in London's Heathrow Terminal 5.

"I arrived late on a flight into London Heathrow's Terminal 5. As my mobile wasn't working I made my way over to the nearest pay phone to call my wife. To make the call I used a pre-paid phone card which I kept in my wallet.

I spoke to my wife and told her what time I would arrive home and then headed for the Gent's toilets, leaving my wallet in the phone booth.

I suddenly realised what I had done and rushed back to the phone booth, but there was no wallet to be seen. I started to panic a little as this held my credit and debit cards, cash and other important documents.

I wasn't too sure what to do and started walking around looking for a Lost and Found section or perhaps someone who could help me. Terminal 5 is usually very busy. I noticed a smart looking woman in a business suit and, for some unknown reason, picked on her to see if she knew if there was a lost and found desk.

She looked strangely at me and asked what the problem was and I told her about my wallet being lost. She asked what it looked like and I straight away told her without thinking as to why she would have asked this.

She opened her bag and said, "Is this it?"

I couldn't believe I had asked the person who had actually found my wallet out of all of the hundreds of people milling about. After I had verified it was mine, by giving her my name and descriptions of what was inside, she returned the wallet to me.

I offered to buy her a coffee or a drink and she said a coffee would be fine, if I would buy her a bun as well! We talked and I found out that she knows my wife's sister. It seems to be a small world at times."

Atlantic City Police Solved A Crime By Coincidences

A bike valued at $500 was stolen from the beach block of Elberon Avenue, Atlantic City. The unnamed owner of the bike says it was taken from her garage. Luckily she was able to catch the culprit on her home surveillance video.

First coincidence: The Atlantic City police officer investigating the theft immediately recognised the culprit on the video. He was 48 year old John Turnure.

Turnure was taken into custody.

Second coincidence: While transporting the suspect the police officer noticed a man sitting on a bike, which was very similar to the one stolen. He investigated and questioned the man who identified Turnure as the person who sold him the bike.

The bike was returned to the rightful owner. Crime solved with the help of two coincidences!

A Premonition Or A Coincidence

Today's coincidence story from Jake is perhaps more of a premonition story or maybe some would say a message from a Guardian Angel. But, whatever, Jake arrived home safely.

"I don't know if this is a coincidence or not but it happened last week when I was in my car.

I was driving my normal route home from work on a wet evening and I had a feeling that I should go a different way. I decided to take some side roads instead of the main A road that I usually take.

When I got home my wife said she had been worried about me because she had just heard on the local radio that there had been a bad accident on the A road I would normally have taken.

Was it a coincidence that I had this feeling and went a different way and missed the accident? I don't know."

"I still can't get my head around this coincidence.

I was reading a book while I waited for my partner, Kim, to join me to watch a DVD we had been lent. The book was called The Sky and this is the sentence I read .. 'A milky trail to the heavens, the Milky Way galaxy is the path that souls. follow to the land of the dead.'

Kim came in with some chocolates and asked, 'What do you want a Milky Way or some Galaxy?'

"I'm called Tom and two months ago, when coming home from work, I saw two car registration plates which began with TOM. One of them I remembered the number as well: TOM 126.

That night my work mate asked me if I could give him a lift to pick up his young son, who was at a friend's house. My mate had problems with his car.

This coincidence has been around for a while but there are no doubt many who haven't seen it.

The photos above and right are of a 3000 year old limestone Egyptian bust.

But, who does this remind you of? The slightly disfigured nose, the wide eyes etc.

Yes, of course, it's Michael Jackson.

The limestone bust has been on display and one museum worker said, "The similarity between the limestone statue – which is about 3,000 years old - and Michael Jackson is astounding."

Don't think there are any known connection between Egypt and Michael but:

A Muddle Of Names Coincidence

Today's story is all about the coincidence of names and comes from Alan S - as you'll see his name is part of the coincidence.

"I was walking home from the my new girlfriend's house early on Saturday morning. Unfortunately I had to go to work later that morning. It only usually takes me about 20 minutes but I met an old friend, Wayne T, I used to know from school and we got talking about different things. I hadn't seen him for about five years.

He told me all about his ex and the sordid details of how they had split up. He then said her name was Jenny P.

I told him my new girlfriend is also called Jenny P.

Fortunately, from the story he had told me, they were different girls but with the same name.

When I finally I got home I rang my Jenny. We talked away and I asked her about her ex. "You mean Wayne T?" she said.

This got me worried but it turned out that Wayne T definitely wasn't the same one that I had met earlier in the day. The names were just coincidences.

There was also one more coincidence. As I continued talking to Jenny she told me that her sister had phoned her and she had a new boyfriend called Alan S, which happens to be my name!!"
