Premature Baby Birthday Coincidence

Coincidence of babies birthdays

This is a coincidence along the lines of another post I recently published, 7:43 A Baby Is Born And Again And Again.

Last February 5th was a special day for mum Pam Banwell as it was her daughter Millie's first birthday. There was an extra big family celebration in South Wales because, as well as being Millie's birthday, it was also the birthday of her two other children Jac and Alisha.

Pam and her partner Lee Collins didn't plan it to happen this way it was just one of those 133,000 to one coincidences that can happen. Millie actually came into the world ten days prematurely - another coincidence.

There was a special birthday cake. No, not one each - but a cake in three sections: a third in the colours of Manchester United Football Club for Jac; a third as a Princess for Alisha and the remaining segment was of Mickey Mouse for Millie.

Pam said, "When most families are trying to cope with the post-Christmas blues, we are planning a big celebration all over again. It's like Christmas morning with presents and a big party. And it will be the same on February the 5th for years to come as well."

I also saw the following on a Daily Mail comment: "My mother was born on the 7th August 1933, I was born on the same day, 7th August 1955, I got married on 7th August 1984, my best mate and man was born on the same day as me, my eldest daughter was born on the 7th August 1986 and my son on 7th August 1987. Beat that! - Paul"

Three Babies Born At 7:43 Coincidence

Police Constable Matt Rigby and his partner Lowry Dairsley, from Salford, Greater Manchester, were expecting their third child, nothing unusual there. But then a coincidence happened where the odds of it actually happening were something like 300 million to one.

The couple's first two daughters were both born at the same time of 7:43, Ella in October 2005 and Evie in 2007.
Surely their third child wouldn't also be born at 7:43. Lowry takes up the story:

"When we found out I was pregnant with Harrison we joked it would be incredible if the same happened. When I went into hospital at 5pm we forgot about it and concentrated on the labour.

At 6.30am I felt the urge to push and when we next looked it was 7.41am. I was asked to wait for the next contraction by the midwife before she delivered him two minutes later. The doctors and midwives were speechless."

Matt added, "I looked at the clock it was 7.43. We couldn't believe the coincidence."

Matt was so impressed he has had a tattoo with the words 'Seven Forty Three' on his arm. The 20th of January 2011 was, after all, a 300 million to one special day. (The times of the three births have been verified with hospital records.)

A short and sweet coincidence story about dates of birth:

My mother and two of her siblings were born in London, on the same day, 30th December, two years apart:

My Uncle .. 30th December 1920
My Aunt ... 30th December 1922
My Mother . 30th December 1924

The William Shakespeare Coincidences

William Shakespeare
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones ...

At school I never really appreciated William Shakespeare. But, as one of my exam subjects was English literature, I had to study some of his works. The quote above, by Mark Anthony from Julius Caesar, has always stuck in my mind - as there is often an element of truth in this.

I'll leave Shakespeare's works to those who enjoy him. The theme today is coincidences (for a change!) but lighthearted ones.

William Shakespeare, often said to be England's greatest playwright, was born on the 23rd of April 1564, which just happens to also be the English Patron Saint's Day on the 23rd of April - St.George, that is.

But, as Shakespeare was special, he also left this mortal coil on the 23rd of April in 1616. Oh, and 'mortal coil' comes from Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Some wonder if Shakespeare knew he was about to pop his clogs as he made out his Last Will and Testament on the 25th of March 1616, 30 days prior to his death.

There is quite a well known coincidence between the Bible and William Shakespeare.

The King James Bible was published in 1610 when the bard was 46 years old. If we take the aforementioned book and go to Psalm 46 and count the 46th word from the beginning this will be 'shake' - 'though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.'

If we then count 46 words from the end of Psalm 46 the word is spear - 'and cutteth the spear in sunder'.

Put the two words together and we have ..... (no need to send in the answer!)

But there's more, though this is maybe stretching things a little.

As I said, William was 46 in 1610. So if we add 4+6 and we get 10.

Staying with Psalm 46 go to verse 10 (because 4+6=10 or because it's year 10) it says: 'Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted in the earth.'

Okay, now count in 6 words and we get I am, count another 4 words and we get will. Rearrange these chosen words and, yes, we now have William.

So ... was there an 'in' joke going on by the translators and William Shakespeare? Guess it's no less likely than a lot of the other conspiracy stories on the Internet. A long time ago (40+ years) the London Times supposedly reported that 'the insertion of Shakespeare's name was a tribute to him, and a 46th birthday present, by some of the translators, who knew his work and might have known him personally.'
